Andrew McCarthy

Remember Andrew McCarthy?

I sure as hell do! I thought he was the most gorgeous thing ever. Loved his smile and the way he laughed. And he was so endearingly funny. And a really nice guy too. Oh. . .I really could have. . .OK, that's enough lusting over Andrew! (Time to grow up, Alex).

Andrew McCarthy was born on 29 November 1962 2:37 am  in Summit New Jersey (Rodden Rating: AA; Collector: Clifford) with Jupiter in Pisces and Saturn in Aquarius.

Not much has been written about Andrew in his early life. However, he has recently said he had developed an alcohol problem that started when he was 12 years old (his first Jupiter return) and sought treatment in 1992 at around the time of his first Saturn return.

The Jupiter return is a crucial time for neurological development as it is when the brain "re-wires" itself. Therefore it can be a time when addictions are most likely to form.

Despite a growing problem with alcohol, Andrew took on his first screen role around the time of his second Jupiter return. Class, St Elmo's Fire and Pretty in Pink were all made whilst Jupiter was in Aquarius.

When Mannequin (released in 1987), was being filmed in 1986, transiting Saturn had opposed Andrew's Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter was in Pisces as it transited is natal Saturn.  Fans of Andrew will remember the oscar nominated title tune was "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by  Jefferson Starship.

I'm working towards a bigger article on the so-called Brat Pack so don't forget to subscribe!

About the New Book

There are two wolves fighting inside of me, the old story goes, one wolf is good and the other is evil. “But Grandfather,” asked the child, “Which one wins?” The Grandfather answered, “The wolf I feed.”

We might like to think that being good is a natural instinct. In fact, doing the right thing takes a conscious decision. Every day, we are met with temptation to get ahead at the expense of someone else, to get away with something we know is wrong or to cut corners if we think no one is watching.

Following on from her powerful book on astrology and Education, “Growing Pains”, Alex Trenoweth explores the benefits of using “the bad guy” of the solar system: Saturn. Often avoided and seldom understood, if we understand our own Saturn then we can help others to understand theirs. Using case studies of  highly successful people contrasted with convicted serial killers, Trenoweth deftly demonstrates the dire consequences of feeding the wrong wolf.
